GiveTopia is a new web destination that generates a sustainable stream of charitable donations by putting everyday commerce to work for the greater good. Our mission is to help these organizations accomplish missions. Our business is based upon the belief that rewarding people for making charitable contributions will make them want to give more... more often.
Who We Are...
A Bunch of Shameless Do-Gooders! Well, actually, we're a bunch of creative, idealistic entrepreneurs bonded by the ideal of being purpose-driven rather than profit-driven, and dedicated to making a difference by reinventing giving. Do-Gooders is just a lot shorter. . . ;)
We are also people committed to creating a healthy and rewarding work environment that values its members and makes work a satisfying part of our lives. We are living, breathing proof that work can be a rewarding experience - in all senses of the word.
Our Work Environment
We currently have 8 amazing team members working hard on the launch of our website, scheduled for May of this year. We operate in a distributed work environment, which means we do most of our work from our homes, collaborating electronically on a daily basis and meeting in person whenever necessary.
We believe in a "result-oriented" philosophy that doesn't confuse activities with accomplishments. What that means is that we set timeframes for finishing specific tasks, and then expect our team members to get them done. How and when is often up to you, except of course for scheduled meetings and other time-sensitive activities. This provides a lot of flexibility in your daily schedule and helps to achieve a great life balance IF YOU ARE DISCIPLINED ENOUGH to work in an unsupervised environment.
Where We're At. . .
Our business development, sales, support, and engineering teams are in place, and our websites are under development. We have one designer on board that has been working on the site, but now we need a leader (you?) to come in and manage the creative and web design processes and complete the sites.
Here's Where You Come In...
As Chief Creative Officer, you would be responsible for performing the following job functions:
Taking control of the hands-on UI and web/graphic design of the company's PC and mobile websites (we are a start-up, which means you have to be able to do the work .
Building and leading the company's web/design team.
Ensuring that our web development meets the functionality specifications and is completed within targeted schedules.
Working with other management team members to establish functionality goals of our software product.

The Opportunity
The initial opportunity is a short-term contract fulfilling specific deliverables. The compensation and term of the contract are negotiable. If our relationship goes well throughout the term of the contract, we expect to extend an offer of full-time employment at the conclusion of the contract. Long-term compensation is also negotiable. Our goal for all team members is that we make more money here than we would working for someone else - and that would certainly apply to you, as well!
The Risk
We are a pre-launch, pre-revenue company; and, as such, can't promise you that we'll make it as a viable company. But, we DO promise that we are doing everything in our power to make it because our mission is everything to us. And when you feel that way, you feel unstoppable. This belief bonds us in a way none of us have ever experienced before, makes us stronger, and attracts other good people like YOU!
So, the risk for you is that you come aboard, spend some time, do some work, and it doesn't work out. You will have wasted some of your time. On the other hand, though, if you have what it takes to work with us and accomplish our mission, then you may just end up with the best job you've ever had. It's up to you to decide for yourself if it's worth the risk. To us, it was a no-brainer.
