We have a small-team environment that is fast-paced and deadline-driven. We provide outsourced management solutions to multiple client organizations and offer strategic planning, executive management, marketing, graphic design, web management, financial management, professional development, education and certification program management, and conference management services.

We are in search of a dynamic Web Developer, who will be responsible for developing innovative websites and web-based tools for the management of our association client organizations. The Web Developer will work very closely with our association managers, graphic designer, and volunteer members to develop specifications and make recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies. Programming, graphic design, and database administration are all elements of this position.

We need a web developer who can hit the ground running and successfully work independently. Our environment is very deadline driven but yet provides fun and variety, as you are able to work with diverse clients.

Although this position is initially posted as a part-time role, the position will eventually develop into a full-time position. Initial hours will be Monday -- Friday, 9am -- 1pm.

Responsibilities:

Develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables

Attend client meetings to directly understand the expectations and needed deliverables

Work with clients and association managers to build and refine graphic designs for websites

Must have strong skills in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, or equivalent applications

Obtain approval of concept by submitting rough layouts for approval

Convert raw images and layouts from a graphic designer into CSS/HTML themes

Determine appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and make relevant recommendations for client organizations

Communicate with association managers with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays

Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value of service to client organizations

Maintain technical knowledge by attending web development workshops; reviewing professional publications; and, participating in professional societies.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work with others, such as account management staff, web host vendors, etc. to complete projects.

Provide some clerical assistance such as answer phones, respond to emails, and provide weekly reports.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited college/university in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience

Experience working with volunteers/clients valuable

Experience with HTML/XHTML and CSS

Web programming experience, including PHP, ASP, Ruby, Rails, or JSP

Experience working with relational database systems such as MySQL, MSSQL, or Oracle and a good working knowledge of SQL

Development experience using extensible web authoring tools

Experience developing and implementing open source software projects

Self-starter with strong self-management skills

Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
