RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGNER

Interior design firm in Boston is hiring a residential interior designer/project manager.

Candidate will have the abilities to perform and coordinate tasks under the direction of the Senior Designers + Studio Director for each project. They must be able to manage the design development of interior projects, from conception, through ordering and installation. Candidate must have a strong mixture of creativity, communication and problem-solving skills while being able to thrive in a team environment.

Qualifications

Accredited degree in Interior Design

4-7 years of related professional residential design experience

Proficient in Word and Excel, AutoCad and Impact/Studio IT a huge plus

Project Related

Participate in visioning process with team

Create, maintain and implement schedules, budgets, and records necessary to manage project

Development of specifications into proposals and proposals into purchase orders using Studio IT software.

Research and shop fabrics, furniture, lighting, wall covering, antiques, carpeting and accessories as requested by team

Manages decorative development of project with Senior Designer

Financial management of ordering of project

Coordinate job site visits and agenda's as directed by senior designer

Communication with team of designers, contractors and site subs

Create and maintain punch lists

Oversee all client orders including approval of material samples, CFAS and shop drawings.

Implement furniture plans for various projects

Reviews furniture shop drawings with Senior Designer

Coordinate materials and color palettes for presentation

Ability to take site measures and relate to plans and elevations

Ability to prioritize tasks

Responsible for taking meeting notes

Work and communicate in all phases as an integral member of the design team

Assist in organizing and managing installations

Understanding of mentorship to entry level position
