Title: INTERIOR DESIGN INTERN
Summary of Position
The Interior Design Intern position is a multifaceted supporting role that will assist the senior staff on design projects and other sales and marketing tasks, while being exposed to and learning many areas of a furnishings company.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Furniture and textile design support
Sales and Marketing support
Project & vendor management
Hands on selection, design and purchasing to support projects
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Currently enrolled or recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited college/university
Some project experience in selecting, specifying, fabrics, furnishings, finishes for residential and commercial projects
Ability to create, review and present technical drawings and product specifications for design projects and furnishings specifications. Working knowledge of CAD and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
Highly organized, with a keen attention for detail
Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Effective communication skills: written, oral, negotiation, problem resolution
Mature, energetic and a positive, "can-do" attitude
Ability and willingness to be hands-on in a fast-paced environment
Must have a valid driver's license and personal transportation
There will be schedule flexibility for students enrolled in school, but must be able to work 15-20 hours minimum between the hours of 9am - 6pm M-F
