Position Overview:

Seeking uncommonly skilled interior decorators with flooring design experience and the ability to be an energetic & focused sales consultant.

Do you have the strong desire to help consumers choose flooring options that optimize the space potential of a kitchen, living room, bathroom or bedroom? Do you have a flair for making a room pop with color & texture? Do you possess the people skills of teaching, leading and rapport building?

We are looking for individuals with successful experience in the retail construction & flooring industry coupled with a strong sense of style, home decor and a passion for design. We are seeking individuals who can combine creative capabilities with sales talent to provide decorating solutions to clients.

Essential Skills:

Design Abilities

- Artistic and creative abilities in the area of home decor

- Measuring skills relating to hardwood, vinyl, carpet & window coverings

- Working knowledge of custom furnishings including window treatments and carpet

- Knowledge of design principles

- Ability to visualize a finished project and convey the outcome to the client

- Ability to provide exceptional design services within a client's defined budget

Sales Technique and Experience

- Must be self motivated, and goal oriented with a drive for success through teamwork.

- Must possess strong sales skills including:

- Must have an understanding for managing the sales process- from prospecting to closing to after-sale follow-up

- Must possess a strong desire to excel in a competitive environment

- Must enjoy being challenged to succeed

- Ability to represent, explain & sell our unique product offerings

- Ability to build a strong client base, generate additional leads & increase company sales

- Desire to build your own business while affiliating with a leader in the home improvement industry

Client Service and Relationship Management

- Possesses strong organizational skills to complete client orders, following up on leads, and scheduling

- Responsible for maintaining open lines of communication to create a positive working relationship with installers

- Must possess basic computing skills including Word, Email usage and Internet searching techniques

- Grow new channels of business

- Develop and maintain new business and referral relationships

- Manage to consistently meet sales goals and objectives

- Generate bids on a timely basis

- Setup installation schedule for jobs sold

- Order materials for jobs sold

- Ensure customer satisfaction of installation

- Follow up on collection of funds for services provided

- Oversee customer appreciation activities

- Maintain flooring displays

Consults with: Sales and Administrative Manager, and President

The ideal candidate would have an entrepreneurial attitude and approach to selling with strong communication, organizational and influence skills. Demonstrated passion for in-home design consulting including the ability to communicate with clients to assess what they want and need, and then present ideas and design solutions in a compelling way. A broad knowledge of current home decor and style along with effective sales techniques is required.
