Interior Designer / Project Manager
We are a design firm that specializes in high-profile residential and commercial interior design projects. We are looking for a full-time interior designer working with both high-end residential and commercial design projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working directly with the Principal on the following:
Building and managing project schedules and budgets.
Coordination with clients, vendors, contractors and purchasing agents throughout the design and specification process to ensure that projects are adhering to outlined project schedules.
Development of schematic design concept through product specification. This includes development of FF&E budget and specification writing.
Use of AutoCAD for elevation and plan drawings, furniture layouts, custom furniture, carpet, rugs, lighting and design intent drawings.
Interior finish, plumbing, appliance, lighting, and hardware sourcing, selections, and schedules.
Interior furnishings, fabrics, decorative lighting, and accessories product research and selection.
Close coordination with vendors for development of custom furniture, carpet, rugs, and lighting. This may include development of design intent drawings as well as construction documentation.
REQUIREMENTS:
In-depth knowledge of interior finish materials and sources. Must be able to work in a team environment, be well organized, have strong communication skills, be attentive to detail, have strong problem solving skills, a strong work ethic and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to problem solve at the conceptual level and work with a variety of design concepts a must. Proven capacity to manage a project and team from project inception to completion is key.
Computer Skills:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project Experience with BaseCamp or similar timekeeping software a plus.
Must be proficient in AutoCAD.
InDesign, Studio Designer, SketchUp and Outlook experience a plus.
