Thingz Contemporary Furnishings (www.ThingzContemporary.com) has an immediate opening for a part-time or full-time Interior Designer / Sales Consultant. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic individual with a strong interest and aptitude for contemporary interior design and custom lighting to join our team in our Tempe location.

Thingz is a leading contemporary furniture and lighting store with showrooms in Tempe and Scottsdale. At Thingz, we specialize in high-end home furnishings and contemporary lighting systems. Our amazing staff provides unbeatable service by working as a team. We work closely with clients in our showroom and through in-home consultations to assist them in selecting furniture, accessories, art and lighting for their projects. In many cases we design customized or semi-customized furniture to meet their needs. We also assist them in selecting colors, finishes, and fabrics.
We provide comprehensive training to new employees in order to familiarize them with our approach and extensive lines of products.
Compensation will vary depending upon experience. All full time employees are eligible for paid vacation and healthcare benefits.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide design services in showroom for furniture & lighting selection including finish, color, customization and style options
Work with customers to fully understand needs and preferences
Conduct in-home interior design consultations
Generate sales as a result of in-store and in-home consultations
Place orders for special order items as necessary and follow-up to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customer
Develop thorough knowledge of all lines in order to act as key resource to customers and other showroom personnel.
Qualifications:
A background in interior design is preferred by not required
A passion in working with people to create cutting edge designs
Excellent client management skills
Ability to work weekend days
Professional verbal and written skills
