Ponte Vecchio Living is a home and lifestyle store in the beautiful and historic town of Winchester, Virginia, servicing residential clients through the sale of high end residential furniture and accessories and offering professional interior design services.
PVL Design Associates is a commercial design firm that delivers inspired, informed and innovative design and procurement solutions for clients in all areas of commercial design with particular expertise in senior living and hospitality and providing turnkey procurement resources.
We are seeking a well-rounded junior interior designer able to work in both design specialties -- residential and commercial. The perfect candidate would be able to support management and senior staff by:
Developing preliminary designs through final concept.
Executing design plans through completion.
Producing CAD documents, including the building of floor plans, perimeters, elevations, schedules, and construction documents.
Producing presentation renderings and boards.
Assisting in all aspects and phases of the design process, both residential and commercial.
Create residential design solutions by selling our products and services that are consistent with our brand and quality standards, and the client's preference and budget.
Customarily and regularly make in-home design calls to evaluate the client's needs and provide a total individualized design solution that closes the sale.

Strong knowledge of the design process and phases, including FF&E, furniture systems and specifications, space, color, lighting, and materials
Broad knowledge effective sales techniques.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design (or equivalent specialty) from a CIDA accredited institution
Minimum 3 years of practical interior design experience
Minimum 1 year of retail sales experience, preferably in the home furnishings industry
NCIDQ Certification, or able to achieve within 1 year
ASID membership, or able to obtain within 6 months
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
Sketch-Up, In-Design, and/or Photoshop experience preferred
Other Requirements:
Proficiency in basic office machines and functions (scanning, copying, faxing, file construction, file maintenance and management, etc.)
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and provide own transportation.
