Visual Merchandiser

FREELANCE VISUAL MERCHANDISER
Visual Merchandising position for luxury home furnishings company located in Encinitas, with secondary store in Newport Beach. This is a contract position, working directly with the owner.

Skill Requirements-
• Ability to understand brand identity and translate it into visual displays and placement of products.
• Strong creative flair and aesthetic judgment.
• Excellent organizational skills, as well as planning, project management, and time management expertise.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective problem solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities-
• Create, install and dismantle displays, including arranging pricing and signage for sales and promotions.
• Develop strategies for increasing sales through merchandising.
• Ensure merchandise is customer ready before being placed on the sales floor.
• Executing weekly merchandising and display objectives, as set forth by management, including planning and execution of new product placement.
• Sourcing materials and display elements as necessary to construct appealing displays.
• Setting up visuals in mock environments.
• Monitor and adjust store lighting as necessary.
• Continuously maintain all displays.
• Communicate weekly with management regarding merchandising plans, objectives, goals, and inventory and stock issues.

Schedule Requirements-
• Flexible schedule required to ensure efficient floor moves are executed in a timely manner and do not disrupt the sales floor or the customer experience. Early morning, late night, holiday and weekend hours may be required.
• Ability to travel between both locations (Encinitas and Newport Beach) as needed.

Physical Requirements-
• Ability to push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of merchandise, fixtures or equipment.
• Ability to be on your feet for 8 hours or more at a time, great stamina.
