Full time Interior design position. Growing Hospitality firm is looking for a very detail oriented, creative, driven interior designer. No requirement for past Hospitality experience, but that would be a big plus. Must have some experience in the commercial field, and residential as well.

Hospitality design is a very specific industry that requires a lot of training. You will be required to "work your way up" to being a designer, who would be capable of taking on projects alone, by learning the tools necessary to complete this incredibly detailed process.

Your first 6 months would be spent doing very tedious work, counting hundreds of tiny items on floor plans, making very detailed excel spreadsheets, and creating specification sheets. Then once you've learned the ropes, you will begin to take on more responsibility, and start designing your own projects. This is a fun job. Nice co-workers, relaxed small office, team environment, opportunity for advancement, and you really do get to be very creative.

You will need to be very proficient at:

a{cent} Creating a Modern Design Aesthetic

a{cent} Excel-including detailed formulas-(more than auto sum) 50% of your day will be spent in Excel.

a{cent} CAD-design furniture, read plans, create plans as needed --not a CAD heavy job, but some knowledge required.

a{cent} Blueprint reading-including detailed rechecking of room counts and item placement.

a{cent} Creation of specification sheets- again very detailed-(also in Excel)

a{cent} Field measures- measure twice, don't leave anything unmeasured.

a{cent} Calculation of wallpaper/carpet for very large areas.

a{cent} Ability to work on a strict budget- make design look expensive using suppliers who may not be.

a{cent} Strong work ethic-if a job needs doing you get it done, even if that means the occasional late night or Saturday.

a{cent} Travel- the ability to occasionally travel to out of state locations for a day or two.

a{cent} QuickBooks- working knowledge or ability to quickly pick up the program to do tasks required for ordering.

a{cent} Ability to give presentations of your work and feel confident.

a{cent} Quick Creativity-ability to utilize artistic license to select finishes, fabrics, furniture in a timely manner.

Earn what you produce, this job is base salary plus commission. If you're the type who pulls long hours and enjoys every minute, but is tired of not getting paid for the extra effort, this job is perfect for you.

Revit, Photoshop not required.

Please respond back with your thoughts and or examples of how you fit the bill. From this response, I will select 3 people to interview.
