PURPOSE

The Latin Licensing Agent will be primarily responsible for processing physical, digital and new media mechanical licensing requests for the reproduction of musical compositions on behalf of our publisher principals.

FUNCTIONS

Daily functions include, but are not limited to:

Assist in the expedition of the mechanical licensing process which results in royalty collections on behalf of our publisher clients

Input and manage data required to issue licenses on an individual and/or bulk request basis

Verify song and rate information with publishers for individual request and independent projects

Review new song titles in the database and/or obtain publisher approval for new songs that are not in the database

Act as the client service frontline for licensees to assist with troubleshooting, and general licensing questions as well as resolving inquiries that relate directly to the licensee's accounts

Assist licensees with inquiries and in identifying appropriate channels for licensing, including setting up and managing new accounts

Act as a knowledge leader, empowered to inform and assist in a client service capacity in all areas of mechanical licensing

Track the status of open transactions and follow-up pro-actively with publishers and licensees to close them

Process license corrections and reissue licenses, as needed

Respond to publisher and licensee inquiries as well as partner with the appropriate internal HFA departments to resolve them as efficiently and as expeditiously as possible

Assist with licensing and interdepartmental specialized projects, including industry research, as needed

Collaborate with the Business Development, Legal and ITCS departments to properly on-board and implement new deals into licensing operations

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Must be fluent in English/Spanish (written and oral)

Bachelors Degree with an active interest in the music industry and new media with a general understanding of the issues and economics related to the relationship between artists, labels, digital music services and publishers

Entry level- 2 years of experience in music licensing

Demonstrate strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: MSWord, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Pro-active, customer service-oriented mind-set

Ability to work in a challenging and fast-paced work environment
