SALES ASSISTANT

CORPORATE UNDERWRITING DEPARTMENT

Reporting to the Executive Director of Underwriting, the Sales Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Local Underwriting team.

Responsibilities:

Produce and distribute correspondence and proposals, such as occasionally writing letters to clients.

Assist with the production and processing of traffic orders both on-air and web.

Assist with copy approval.

Maintain marketing efforts including media kits and other B2B marketing.

Assist with Underwriting promotional events.

Act as a liaison between Underwriting and client to facilitate daily business transactions.

Provide general administrative support to multiple Underwriting Managers.

Make sure records retention (e.g. filling of contracts) is accurate and efficient.

Strong focus on customer/client care duties (e.g. contract details, catching discrepencies, going over copy).

Comply with all New York Public Radio and department policies and guidelines.

This position requires use of a computer, telephone and other office equipment; ability to communicate effectively through a variety of methods; requires ability to work extended hours as needed.

Additional assignments and special projects as directed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum 1-2 years administrative experience required.

Professional demeanor, highly solutions oriented

Prior experience working in a sales or marketing department is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to navigate the web environment self-sufficiently; ability to support online projects required.

Requires prior experience building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external contacts; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Requires the intellectual and emotional depth, maturity, self-confidence and interpersonal skills to work effectively and/or interact with the other Underwriting staff, executives at New York Public Radio, colleagues, industry representatives and clients as needed.

Excellent communication skills -- both oral and written -- with an impressive reputation for building and maintaining relationships with people at all levels of an organization, across a diverse range of cultural, generational, ethnic, racial, educational and social backgrounds.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects is required.

Attention to detail and accuracy required.

Demonstrate expertise with all Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.

Familiarity with digital advertising options a plus.

Ideal candidate will possess experience with SalesForce or other related software service applications.
