Shanghai Industry and Commerce Foreign Language College, one of the top private colleges in Shanghai, China is currently searching for qualified pre-school/elementary school teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience teaching young learners in China. There is a great need in China to provide after-school education to kids. Our students, ranging in age from 6 to 11, are spirited, motivated and eager to learn. Our goal is to provide an interactive English learning environment for kids to learn team works, communications, problem solving and other skills via games and group activities to better prepare themselves for future challenges, while they can enjoy. As head teacher, you will have a direct impact on students and other staff members. Position will be based in Shanghai, China.

JOB TITLE:

Head Primary Instructor/Teacher of ESL and Child Development

HIGHLIGHTS:

START DATES: June or July: 2012

STUDENTS AGES: 6-11 years old

MONTHLY SALARY: 2,000 -- 3,500 $USD

12,600 -- 22,000 RMB

CONTRACT DURATION: 12 months -- (1 Year) with opportunity of renewal

NUMBER OF STUDENTS: 30-35 students/class

WORKING HOURS: 25-40hrs/week (M-Th & Saturday)

AIRFARE: Flight allowance of two round-trip tickets between Shanghai and the U.S. per year, capped at USD1,200 per ticket

VISA: 1 Year Working Sponsored (Paid)

QUALIFICATIONS

Native English speaker

Passionate about teaching young learners

Creative, caring, and full of energy, and willing to live and work in China

3+ years teaching experience with young learners -- (NEGOTIABLE)

Excels in the development of curriculums, programs and group activities for young learners

Background working for afterschool program or summer camp

Ideally must be currently licensed to teach the early childhood grades or the elementary grades in the U.S.

Background in music/theatre/performing arts preferred

Ideally be currently licensed to teach the early childhood grades or the elementary grades in the U.S.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop and deliver after-school programs and group activities to children aged 6-11 in classes of 30 to 35 kids

Design and develop weekend programs and use multimedia platform to teach kids English effectively

Coach and manage assistant teachers

Evaluate students' progress and provide ongoing guidance for improvement to both students and staff teachers

Advise the board on improvement of the center in all aspects

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree required, (Non-negotiable) -- Master degree preferred

TEFL and/or TESOL certificate (CELTA or equivalent preferred)

LANGUAGES

MUST BE NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER from Canada or USA

LANGUAGE USED AS A MEDIUM OF TEACHING:

Canadian or USA styled -- English

SALARY/PAY:

Monthly Salary 2,000 -- 3,500 $USD
