Big Weekend Calendars is in need of an Art Director to help select photo locations for its annual "Austin Events" wall calendar. See it here: http://BigWeekendCalendars.com
We're looking for someone to help us decide what Austin events and activities to shoot. The role includes:
- Coming up with a list of possible shots that meet different criteria.
- Working with the photographer and publisher to fully develop the concepts.
- Attending and coordinating with the photographer at the shoot.
- Obtaining models/props/releases as needed.
You must:
- Have a good knowledge of Austin events and activities.
- Have a desire to go out and find new and interesting things for photo ideas.
- Have related creative experience.
- Be able to make yourself available during weekdays and some weekends and possibly holidays for shoots. Obviously how often and when depends on what we decide to shoot.
This is the first time we've hired for this job, but we expect the workload to be about 15-20 photo shoots, each ranging 1-3 hours each. In addition to the shoots, the project will require about 40-60 hours of research and legwork. Keep in mind this work is done throughout the whole year.
