how2heroes, the premiere how-to instructional cooking website, is searching for a talented Director of Photography to lead the team from planning and vision through to the shoot, editing and launch of the videos. We are looking for an entrepreneurial spirit who has a combination of media and commercial experience as you will also be directing shoots for clients of our sister company, Rival Marketing, http://www.rival-marketing.com. High level of creativity, problem solving, creating camera & editing skills, knowledge of and passion for food and cooking - all required.

The DP works in collaboration with the Producer and CEO in the scheduling process of booking talent for a shoot.

The DP maintains the schedule with the producer, as well as the Status Report to monitor and keep track of all videos that are currently in production or are on the schedule.

On Shoots the DP works in collaboration with another videographer to achieve the best audio, lighting and camera angles possible in the kitchen or other venue space that is provided. The DP works with the producer in directing the talent, as well as managing the order and workflow of the shoot.

The DP works with the Producer in preparation for weekly status meetings with the production team and CEO to establish production priorities and content ideas for the weekly newsletter, as well as upcoming shoots, and content ideas for future production.

The DP is involved in many cases involved in all aspects of production of the video from the booking, to shooting, editing, reviewing, encoding, uploading, preparing the admin. pages for the videos on the website, to pushing the video live.

The DP is responsible for spearheading the archiving of all video content that is produced, from the Raw tapes to the final video files.

Qualifications/Requirements of the ideal Candidate:

Candidate must possess a strong background in all aspects of video production: shooting, editing, lighting, basic audio. Experience with shooting food in restaurant kitchens is a must. Experience in shooting Instructional videos is a major plus.

Strong interest in food/cooking is a must.

Experience with Final Cut Pro, I-DVD, Adobe Photoshop, are a must.

Ideal Candidate will have experience/ be comfortable with Adobe After Effects or other similar video graphics programs.

Candidate must be a people person, outgoing, a good communicator and a complete team player. A "no task is too small, or too big mentality" is a must.

Ability to think on one's feet adapt and do what it takes to get the best product possible in some occasionally physically challenging situations. Looking for someone who is very professional but has a sense of humor and roll with the punches personality.
