Photography Instructor Part Time

We are looking for a photographer (aspiring or established) that would enjoy the opportunity to teach others the technical and artistic aspects of great photography. We run small photography classes in the greater Sacramento Area and are looking for a select group of dynamic instructors to join our growing team. Most of our classes are in the evenings from 7-9pm (Mon - Fri) and occasionally on Saturdays. We cover topics like camera layout, exposure, composition, lighting and editing; the ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of these fundamentals. Experience shooting maternity, babies, children, kids sports and families would also beneficial.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess These Skills and Attributes:

- Confidence in presenting to small and medium sized groups of people

- Ability to think quickly and overcome mental obstacles while presenting (i.e. you don't get flustered easy or loose your composure under pressure.)

- Reliable transportation - punctuality is mandatory

- Genuine desire to help others learn (You get really excited when someone grasps something you've taught them!)

- Patient with slow learners (You see this as a challenge that you're uniquely prepared to conquer!)

- Able to adapt your presentation style to the unique needs of your audience (You know how to read your audience and assess whether or not they are grasping your material. You adapt your tone, language and materials to better serve their learning preferences.)

- Must be comfortable recommending additional classes and workshops to class attendees and be successful at signing them up

- Own or have access to a late model DSLR camera with lens(es)

- Dress professionally

No teaching experience is required, but will be very helpful. We will train you on our materials and expect you to follow the programs we have created. As you gain experience, we will look forward to your recommendations for improving our classes and workshops.

This is an independent contractor position. Internships may be considered as well.
