Photography Production And Research Assistant Intern (Upper East Side)

Jan. 31, 2012

New York, NY

Confidential

I am a multi-media artist (Sherry Mills, Inc. www.sherrymills.com) seeking a production and research intern for a 3-6 month period, preferably 2-3 days/weekfrom 2-8pm(can be flexible). You would be working from my studio on the Upper East Side, but largely when I am not there. We would spend the first 20-30 minutes of each of your visits together. So you would have to be self-motivated and ok being left to your own devices in a small (but some have said magical, and certainly it's artsy and organized) space, with some music, an espresso machine, and an amazing cat named Rafer Johnson!

Tasks would include:

-Photographing my latest 'outfit' before I take off in it

-Lots and lots of slide and document scanning (for several street photography book prototypes and performance projects in-the-works)

-Archive support - resizing and organizing images

-Making adjustments to products in my online shop

-Researching strategic partnerships for building my online audience

You are great with a camera (have an eye and an intuitive nature), precision is your middle name (are the slides perfectly set in the tray, is there a speck of dust, etc.), you enjoy repetitive organizational tasks like they're a meditation rather than the worst thing possible, you're great with Photoshop, have a positive and patient attitude, are hip to people and agencies that would be smart to connect with, would enjoy being in an environment filled with dollhouse miniatures and teal curtains, and you find the humor in things!

This internship is unpaid, but I will provide $10 a day for lunch and train fare. You can go crazy with my espresso machine and expect other tasty and inspiring perks.

Please respond with your qualifications and resume.

Thank you,

Sherry
