Photography Retoucher Needed (Farmers Branch)

Looking for a part time contractual photo retoucher for a DFW area High School Senior and Family photographer.

Immediately need help retouching senior/family images during the busy November/December months. Just lost my retoucher to a full time job, and have over 500 senior images to retouch for orders.

Please submit your resume of experience in retouching, 2 to 3 samples of images showing both SOOC (straight out of the camera) and the final retouched image, and include the time it takes you to re-touch an individual image. (If you have no samples to send, I will send you a couple of images to retouch).

Please advise what computer system you currently use, along with whether you retouch with a mouse or tablet (this wont affect your chances of being hired).

Pay will be $2.50 per image (no per hour pay). Some images may be $4 depending on the complexity of the work needed (e.g. expanding or cloning patterned backgrounds), but most images will only need basic retouching.

Please note this is a CONTRACT job. Most of the work will happen during my busy season (November/December). You will be responsible for paying your taxes from the 1099 form I will submit to the IRS at tax time.

There WILL be an opportunity to work for me again in the spring/summer/fall seasons, when business gets busy again. So if you are looking for longer term part time work from home, this may be the job for you!

QUALIFICATIONS

* Must have at least Photoshop CS3 or Lightroom 2 (prefer PS3), plus Portraiture.

* Very Good Knowledge of using Curves, Burning/Dodging, Contrast, etc. for image enhancement

* Actual Job Experience in re-touching photographs of people to where the re-touching looks NATURAL and NOT plastic (Experience retouching teenagers with bad acne a plus!)

* Knowledge of how to use Actions

* MUST Be able to re-touch and deliver files within a week or less of the files being submitted through DropBox (e.g. must be a quick, but thorough, worker) [average images per client is around 20, although some may be as small as 5 and occasionally some may be as large as 60]

* MUST be willing to deliver final product in PSD format with adjustment layers intact (in case I need to tweak something)

* Although work will be done from home, initial training to get an idea about how I want the images to look will be done at my studio (so I would prefer retouchers living in the DFW area)

* Training videos WILL be provided to show you exactly how I retouch images and how I want them to look.

* Prefer PC based computer system. No preference on tablet vs. mouse use.

* Computer Monitor MUST be color-calibrated

* Must have reliable computer system with the ability to store several gigabytes of images at a time (per batch of images)

JOB DUTIES

* Removing under-eye circles, blemishes, excessive skin shine, and/or other skin flaws from skin. Using Portraiture when needed (in moderation).

* Removing stray hairs

* Color enhancement of background, and using Curves, etc. to enhance photograph.

* Whiting out background for high key look when needed.

* Removing Background Wrinkles when needed

* Cloning or Stretching Patterned Backgrounds when needed to fill frame

* Enhancing backgrounds (such as Deep Ellum mural photo shoots) or Skies using Topaz Adjust or other means.

* Occasionally needing to stretch or clone backgrounds to fit 8x10 or other final print formats.

* Occasionally needing to remove light stands, cords, etc. from studio shots, and distracting elements like background poles from outdoor images.
