JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland As, are getting ready to begin our 12th season. During nine of the last eleven seasons, we have ranked at the top nationally in attendance, setting new all-time records for the Pacific Coast League in the process. This past season, more than 700,000 fans attended River Cats home games. Raley Field has been the toast of the region since its debut in May of 2000. With a seating capacity of 14,014, it features 36 luxury suites, 2,500 club seats, a stadium club, multiple group party areas, childrens playground, a giant LED video board and an impressive audio/visual production center.

In addition to our attendance records, we have won four Pacific Coast League Championship (2003, 2004, 2007 and just recently 2008), played host to the 2005 Triple-A All-Star Game, won a Triple-A Championship (2007 and 2008) and continue to send many players onto the Major Leagues, including the 2004 American League Rookie of the Year Bobby Crosby and 2005 Rookie of the Year Huston Street.

The River Cats & Raley Field are looking for a creative, driven photographer(s) who can shoot and organize photos for marketing materials. The qualified candidate(s) will be able to successfully manage multiple, time sensitive projects, and be able to work odd hours. This is a seasonal position that would begin February and run through August.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Capturing quality images for the Sacramento River Cats and other events at Raley Field (Photo needs include pictures of game action, promotional events, marketing images and sponsored activities).

Assist with photo needs for special projects including programs, baseball cards, sales/marketing collateral, and other projects.

Manage and organize the photo archive on a daily basis.

Other duties as determined by the Advertising Manager & Graphic Designers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a college student enrolled in some form of photography, art, graphic design, or communication program. The ideal candidate must have a strong desire to work in the field of sports photography. The candidate should have an eye for captivating photo opportunities. All candidates must be familiar with using high resolution photography equipment and must be able to download photographs to the server for graphic design access.

Familiarity and knowledge of baseball and the entertainment industry is preferred, but not required

Willingness to work some nights and/or weekends

Must submit 10 samples of work (72 res, jpeg format, between 6x4 - 8x10) with resume.

Compensation: This position is non-paid. You must be able to receive school credit through an accredited college/university throughout the internship (Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer). Documentation of proof of credit is required.
