Shameless Photography (http://www.shamelessphotography.com) is a feminist, body-positive portraiture business that transforms everyday women into pinups and silverscreen stars. We have a diverse clientele of women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and backgrounds, and our goal is to create portraits that are stunning, iconic, and communicate something authentic about each individual. Shameless has studios in San Francisco and New York City.
Shameless seeks an intern who is responsible, enthusiastic, ready to hit the ground running, and brings talent to the table. Experience is a plus, but not necessary if you're a fast & motivated learner.
Shameless internships are training programs, and they're highly interactive, with no busy work. You become a central part of every shoot, and will be involved with everything from lighting setup to wardrobe choices to hair and makeup. You also learn about post-shoot image processing, and gain skills and experience in editing and retouching images. Previous Shameless interns have gone on to do professional retouching work and hair & makeup work with no additional experience.
The internship is 6-months and unpaid. Shoots take place during the day 2-4 times a week, so the ideal candidate would have a flexible schedule in order to attend most shoots as well as complete retouching training and assignments (approximately 20 hours per week total). The ideal candidate would have the following:
**Very strong interest in vintage-style photography.
**A warm, affirming, and observant personality; the ability to help clients feel comfortable and confident in the studio.
**An extremely responsible character: always on-time and able to meet or beat deadlines.
**Experience with or interest in using Lightroom and Photoshop to edit, retouch, and perfect images.
**Experience with or interest in strobe-style studio lighting systems.
**Experience with or interest in hairstyling and/or makeup application, especially vintage styles.
