Confidential
I dont want this to sound like the standard boring corporate job opportunity ad. What we do isnt boring, its cool, and what were going to be doing in the future is cool, too. So we need somebody cool to come into our company and make things happen on the web side.
Alright, Ive just self-proclaimed our coolness. Whatever. You decide. We produce educational seminars and DVDs for photographers. We are Jeff Medford and Ross Hockrow. We, along with good friend Clay Blackmore, just finished a 30-city tour in 7 weeks teaching photographers about photography and the new HD Cinema opportunities made possible from the latest round of SLR cameras. So for starters, check this out:

Did you notice the list of tour sponsors? Canon, Adobe, and 28 others. Canon also sponsored us to develop a new approach to photography DVD training, and the result is the 3-disc set How To Photograph Everyone

This DVD needs a website, a dedicated website. In fact, our company has about a dozen DVDs that each need websites to showcase them. And this year we are creating 6 more, and each of those will need their own website. Oh, and we also make feature films. For example:

Each film needs a website. On top of all of that, we have a photography education website that youre going to build from the ground up, and that will need a forum, a blog, lots of cool looking design elements. The placeholder website is http://www.photographeveryone.com. Hey it sucks, we know. Thats why were hiring you.
Did I mention that were doing another tour this year? Adobe is our main sponsor. Well be going to 33 cities in 7 weeks from mid-September through mid-November. Were going to need another website, because this is a different tour, and will teach different things, just like our DVDs.
Of course, in order to sell DVDs and tickets were going to need a really great store on the back end that will be able to support taking orders for all of these things.
And after youve created all of these things, were going to need you to get all of the websites translated into Spanish to support the Spanish-language version of the DVDs.
If youre still reading this, thats a good sign. We (Jeff & Ross) are two laid-back but ambitious guys who are ready to create the worlds premiere photography and HD Cinema education company. I (Jeff) do my part on the business endI create the opportunities, come up with the ideas, and oversee execution of the plans. I have all of the contacts with our sponsors. Ross is the creative mastermind on the video/film side. He films and edits all HD content, and teaches as well.
And you? Youre the web and design genius who doesnt like the constraints of a corporate job. You have this burning inner passion to push your creative limits and make really damn cool websites. You have some lingering restless sense of your own creative destiny and your ability to make it big in a non-traditional way, i.e. not climbing the corporate ladder. You love photography and video/film editing and have some measure of experience with both of them, and you love to travel. You know that if given the right situation, you can make any big opportunity bigger, and you want a piece of the action.
Ok, so you saw the salary: $30,000. Yes, its lowbecause were just starting out. However, as the company grows, so will your compensation. We are putting in place a substantial commission. Because what you create will be the face of this company, youll have a stake in the DVD sales. Well create a commission-based incentive for you so that you make money off of every DVD sold from the website for as long as youre with us. Youll also receive a commission for each ticket sold for the upcoming tour. Basically, every website that you create will give you a direct financial stake in its sales successwell do our part by producing a rock-solid product and awesome trailers, and you do your part by putting everything together and creating a compelling web experience that leaves them wanting the whole enchilada, and we all make money together.
Other details: Were located in Kensingon, MD, just outside of DC. You will have to live here to work with us. You will be working from my (Jeffs) home office every day, so you must be comfortable in that environment. There are no healthcare benefits. I suppose there is some official vacation and holiday policy, but were really pretty super casual. Come and work your butt off, make the coolest websites you possibly can, the coolest graphic designs you can, be as creative as you know how to be, and everything will be VERY flexible. Start/stop hours each day are flexible...blah blah, you get the point.

If youre super motivated and dont know everything yet, but you know that you always can figure it and learn during a project, were cool with that.
