Wedding/Portrait Photography Assistant (San Diego (All Over))
Aug. 16, 2011
San Diego, CA
Confidential
I am an experienced, professional wedding photographer in search of an non-shooting assistant for weddings and shoots. I have been shooting for over 6 years, have won awards and have garnered an immense amount of knowledge that I'm enthusiastic about sharing with someone who is excited about learning. I'm looking for someone who is diligent, eager to grow and passionate about photography. A student seeking internship experience would probably be a great fit!
Your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- carrying bags to and from locations
- carrying additional cameras and having them on-hand for me when I need them
- loading medium format & 35mm film
- having fresh compact flash cards ready for me (& putting away used cards)
- anticipating my needs and adapting to them
- keeping track of paper documents (photo lists, timelines)
- assisting in gathering for family/group photos
- keeping an eye on details (adjusting bride's dress, etc)
The right person for the job will be:
- hardworking
- eager to learn
- adaptive
- has great attention to detail
- positive & energetic attitude
- has a professional demeanor
- personable with good social skills
- has own transportation
Experience is not necessary, as long as you're willing to put in 100% and approach everything with a great attitude. I can teach most of these duties, but attitude cannot be taught! Knowledge of weddings would be helpful so you are familiar with the typical flow of a wedding day. Events will primarily take place on the weekend for weddings. If you're a good fit, I'd love to have you also assist for portrait shoots as well, which will require the same duties, just on a smaller scale (and may be on weekdays). This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience and knowledge about the industry. I would be happy to answer questions and help mentor the right candidate.
This has the potential to become a paid position. Compensation will depend on experience and proven ability to perform.
If interested, please forward a introduction email (or cover letter if you'd like to be more formal :)), your resume and a brief sample of your work (if possible). I'd love to see your personality shine through! :D
I look forward to working with you!
